Genre is a style or category of art, music or literature. A Sub-Genre
is a subdivision of a genre of literature, music, and film. A hybrid genre is a
genre in fiction that blends themes and elements from two or more different genres.
The ‘Codes’ in Codes & Conventions are a system of signs, which create
meaning. Codes can be both technical i.e lighting and symbolic. A genre trope
is a familiar and repeated symbol, meme, theme , motif , etc – they are usually
tied heavily to a certain genre. For example, a horror film and a mad
scientist.

From the image, we can tell the film genre is sci-fi, most specifically because of the advanced weapons pictures. I like this genre because it transports audience members to a future environment we don't know about.

The film still above is from an Action genre. I like action films because they excite me and always have something going on.
