What is a Genre?
Genre: A way of categorising films by their themes and topics.
Sub-genre: Sub-division of film genre e.g an action film with a few elements of comedy
Hybrid genre: A complete blend of two genres
Codes & Conventions: Messages or signifies of genre
Genre Tropes: Cliche codes and conventions. Element of genre that been over used.
Gangster film: The props and actors in the still image shows themes of gang culture, it is easy to spot because the scenery and props on the table. I prefer this genre because i like the action also the plots are entertaining.
Comedy film: The actors in the film are known comedians which gives away the genre of comedy also the unusual props gives a sense of silliness. I like this genre because it puts the audience in a joyful mood and creates a funny environment.
Horror film: The dark atmosphere of the mask and weapons gives themes or horror and creates a suspense environment. Also the white typography gives mysterious themes. I like horror because it draws the audience into the movie really quickly and once drawn in you cant get drawn out.
