What is Genre?
Genre: a genre is style or category of horror, comedy, or romance.
Sub-Genre: a subdivision of a genre of literature, music, film etc.
Hybrid genre: genre in fiction that blends themes and elements from two or more different genres for example 'Romcom'
Codes and Conventions: codes and systems of signs which create meaning, messages or signifiers of genre. Codes can be divided into two categories - technical and symbolic.
Genre Tropes: a word or expression used in figurative sense. A common overuse theme or devise: Cliché.
My favourite genre is animation. I like animation because I feel like if your older it brings you back to your childhood and I enjoy the feeling of reminiscing. Also I think that animations always tell discrete meanings for relatable situations although it is fiction.
